Welcome to MARSH!
|
MARSH is a group of individuals in the greater Houston area interested in the husbandry of marine ornamentals and saltwater aquariums.
Our Purposes:
- To exchange information within the group to share cumulative experiences and to ensure successful husbandry of our members' aquaria;
- To participate in education within the club through speakers, Internet presence, outreach, newsletters, and interaction with the trade;
- To promote captive propagation and breeding; and
- To promote conservation both within and without the hobby.

4th Annual Big Bird Port A Collection Trip and BBQ

That time of year is approaching again. The annual Big Bird Port A trip is slowly coming upon us. If you would like to go, please be sure to register so we can get a good head count for the food ordered for Saturday's BBQ. The registration link can be found here
Paid Members of MARSH and MAAST are free plus 1 guest free. Additional guests are $10/person.
Non-Paid Members are $10/person.
DFWMAS Members(paid/non-paid) are $10/person.
Children 10 and under free.
All individuals are responsible for making their hotel reservations. Reservations need to be made by June 25, 2009. The hotel info is as follows:
Our room block is set for Friday July 25-Sunday July 27 at the Mariner Inn & Suites.

Ask/tell them this is with MARSH because we have 30 rooms blocked off for us. IF we fill up those rooms, continue making reservations, as long as there are more rooms available, they will keep giving us the discount, which is 10% discount on rooms. There is a 25% non-refundable fee to hold room that requires a 72-hour cancellation notice

• Single (1 Queen, Mini Fridge, Microwave) $85.00/night - 2 person Occupancy
• Double (2 queens, Mini Fridge, Microwave $99.00/night - 4 person Occupancy
• Mini Suite (1 queen, Full Kitchen,) $115/night - 2 person Occupancy, Handicap accessable
• Mini Suite (2 queen, Full Kitchen) $135/night - 4 person Occupancy
• Luxury Suite(1 Queen & 1 King, Full Kitchen) $195/night - 4 person Occupancy

camaroracer214 writes "We are pleased to announce that Eric Borneman will be putting on a coral identification workshop at Bay Area Aquarium on Sunday, March 30 beginning at 11 am. The store will open early at 10 am to allow everyone to come in and get set up, as well as chat with other members.
We encourage all MARSHians with coral identification questions to attend and bring frags of what they would like to learn how to identify.
